Introduction
Prof. Dr. Amer Aziz is a renowned orthopaedic and spinal surgeon based in Lahore, Pakistan, best known for leading the Orthopaedic & Spine Department at Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital and Lahore Medical & Dental College. With over 36 years of clinical experience, he has gained recognition both nationally and internationally for managing complex trauma, joint replacement, and advanced spinal procedures, and for his role in training a large number of orthopaedic surgeons in Pakistan.
Qualifications
Prof. Dr. Amer Aziz holds a MBBS, and advanced surgical credentials including FRCS (Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons) and FCPS (Ortho) (Fellow of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan in Orthopaedics). He is a senior member of professional bodies such as the Pakistan Medical Commission, College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), and AO Spine International, where he has contributed to establishing Pakistan’s national chapter for spinal surgery training.
Education & Trainings
Dr. Aziz completed his basic medical degree (MBBS) and subsequent specialist training in orthopaedics and spine surgery, gaining extensive experience in the United Kingdom before returning to Pakistan. His training and clinical practice span advanced musculoskeletal surgery, arthroplasty, trauma management, deformity correction, and spinal surgery techniques. Under his leadership, the orthopaedic and spine centre at Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital has become one of the country’s largest facilities for postgraduate orthopaedic education and fellowship programs sponsored by Johnson & Johnson Pakistan and the Pakistan Orthopaedic Association.
